    LT1 vs 09 mustang gt

    I have a 96 lt1 m6. Getting longtubes installed as we speak, will have 3 inch all the way out. K&N intake. good driver mod.

    A friend of mine wants me to race one of his buddies. He has an 09 mustang gt. I dont think its auto. Not sure what all is done.. Do I stand a chance?

    From a 25 roll i can beat my friends a4 ls1 camaro until 105ish. (lid, hollowed cats, custom y pipe, 2.75" exhaust all the way, free mods, 3:73's, slight tune only to change shift firmness) hoping to be different when my headers are installed.

    what are your mods? just K&N and longtubes? i would expect a loss but cant be sure till you try it!! remember anything can happen on the street.

    nor do i factory freak?
    has 3" from longtubes back.. thats ory and no muffler.. he hasnt raced since i put the lt's on

    of course i doubted him , and i dont really bow down to the ls1. i repect all cars but i was just sayin modded ls1 vs a stock lt1 seems like it should be an easy race.
    -two cars with similar weight, one with more horsepower and better gearing. should be a done deal unless traction is a problem for one right?
    guy posts vid and proves he won, nothing to argue with there

    to op-just curious did the ls1 spin? im sure those drs helped out

    nope, no spinning, just the usual chirping from 1st to 2nd. His car shifts pretty hard. That race is actually all the same mods with stock gearing in his car. With the gears he hangs at my back bumper with his headlights.
    BTW i raced the mach1 two nights ago from a roll from 50. His headlights hung at my passenger door to 110 where we shut down. Four times. his mods are borla exhaust, sct tuner, k&n, shortest short throw in the world lol. Not sure which tune he had it set to. Underdrive pullies.... My headers did give a nice seat of the pants gain

    Im just curious, how do 09 gt's run?

    I've seen stock 09 GT's run 13.8-13.9 all day. One with gears (he wouldn't say what ratio), exhaust, CAI, and tune was running 13.5's... If that helps.
