Just like any other motor. For normally aspirated, ported/aftermarket ported heads, bigger cam, built bottom end, custom tune. If you want more than that, boost (turbo, supercharger) or nitrous.

I like the idea of more cubes with a stroker kit. More expensive that most of the other options out there though.

Uhh, not so much. Probably one of the cheaper ways to make more power in fact. Only thing that might be cheaper is nitrous, but without building the bottom end for nitrous, that's a timebomb anyway.

What is your price budget? What are you aiming for? Look up the LE1 -LE3 kits made for the LT1. Very affordable and easily gets you to the 400+RWHP range

I don't think you could build a reliable stroker for less than putting a supercharger on it. Granted, you can't run much boost on the stock bottom end, but I still think that a supercharger kit would be cheaper than buying and assembling a stroker kit.

I run a GM847 cam, Advanced Induction Heads (185cc), Advanced Induction street/strip intake, with supported bolt-ons such as Kooks 1-7/8" race-tubes. Car made 405rwhp/371rwtq with the stock rods, crank, and Speed Pro forged slugs. The low-end is slightly on the hesitant side but still retains enough "oomph" for regular street driving, while the top-end is a monster!

If your considering going power adder, a nitrous wet kit from TNT netted me 501rw/513rwtq with a 100-shot. This will have you running with the big dogs!

It shouldnt take much to beat the LS1s. Just a few bolt ons would get you right with an LS1. Plus parts for the LT1 is cheaper in most cases, hell just throw in 100 or 150 shot you would clearly beat them and probably be right there with the stock cobras or better.

LT1s can be just as mean as an LS1

It shouldn't take much to beat a STOCK LS1, but how many LS1's out there are still bone stock?

Well, your not going to find many "bone-stock" cars. I mean, you can simply have a K&N Filter and cat-back, and your now no longer completely bone-stock anymore.

But, despite most of us performance die-hards, there are still many high potential cars out there that are still basically stock, besides a couple parts thrown here and there.

Not that many have mods. But Yea I get what your saying. He said he wants to beat an LS1 so I am giving him an idea of how far behind he is.
