Ls1 Swap Into My Lt1 How Hard?

well here it goes. i have found a good price on an ls1 motor out of a 2002 ss and it comes with an auto trany which i don't need. my question is would it be worth it to spend the 2500 on the motor /tranny to transplant into my 97. or would i be better of in taking that 2500 to spend on a really good head and cam package????? how much is involved in making the change i mean will it bolt up or will i need a new k-member/ rack&pinion set-up? so what do you all think worth it to swap to the ls1 or keep my lt1 and get a good head and cam package. please everyone's input will help!!!!!!

Stock LS1 for your mod'd (I assume) LT1? I say spend the money on more mods for your LT1. If it's stock for stock.... That's a toss up.

Swapping an LS1 into a 93-97 era car is so unoriginal and boring.

Powerdyne is about the cheapest blower you can buy for an LT1. And I dont mean price.

id go with the supercharger 1st. you can always do the heads and cam later.

Heads and cam! You need to lower the compression and rework the motor to really benefit from a s/c. And the s/c will wear that stock motor out. Good flowing heads will free up HP not ram it down its throat like a S/C. I think You will be happier in the long run. Heads, cam and then focus on hooking the car up. You will have one awsome ride.
