I need 6 mph!!! FAST AND CHEAP!
Hey guys, need some advice... last test and tune for this year is coming up saturday, im gonna run the LT-1... my last time was a 14.42 at 94mph on a shitty cold track with bad traction... conditions are gonna be about the same saturday...so my ? is how can i get that extra 6 mph without spending alot of money (any if i can avoid it)... All i have done to the car right now is a el cheapo auto zone cone filter on the stock intake piping, and 93 octane gas with X1R Octane Booster from auto zone... I really want that 100 mph club sticker on my LT lol, not a big deal but if anyone has any ideas, let me know

Well, first off, take off the cone filter so you gain the power back that you've LOST from it. And then ditch the octance booster because it isnt doing a damn thing for you. In a good DA your car should run 100mph stock. I trapped faster than 94 mph when my car was stock up here in Colorado with an 7500+ DA. Either the weather was horrible or something is wrong with your car. I'd suggest a good tune up to start, because I'm just not seeing a 7000+ ft DA in Virginia.

I should note it was 32 degrees that night too and it was a cold track... were going in the day this time and it should be in the mid 50s if all goes well

Sounds to me like you need to invest in some bolt-ons. Gears would definatley help.

You are down on power, you should be trapping 97 MPH or more if it is a 6 speed. Quickest way would be to do a tune up, get a mail order tune, and drop some weight out of the car. Suggestions spare tire and jack also keep min. amount of fuel in the car while at the track.

Not all runs are going to be the best, I wouldn't worry about one run that's below average. A few MPH lower than expected trap for one run isn't really anything to worry about.

When was the last time it had a tune up. Spark plugs, wires, air filter, & fuel filter? After that it would not be a bad idea to dyno it and see what it's putting out.

It must have something to do with that nice optispark.

If it was the opti, you'd feel it. Misses galore.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the average traps for a stock LT1 is upper 90's.

Lots of 6 speeds have trapped 100-101. It's really not that hard to believe.
