A waste of money? Huh? The LT4 Intake and Heads have so much potential. The midrange and top end is phenominal and can bridge the gap between the LT and LS motors. When my 'vette was stock it made 306rwhp @ 5600, slightly more than my fathers '02 Corvette/M6, which pulled 304rwhp. With just a mild 'ol HOT cam, ported-stock TB & air foil, Long-tubes/exhaust and tune it's pulled 362. I've seen big cam-only setups push 380 plus. Those are more like LS1 #'s.

yes your right lt1s are serious motors and i have 2. but from my exp. i would rather have lsx. lt1s are a cheaper and i would recommend them. i was not trying to turn him away. i would recommend them to anyone and i believe they are the 2nd best "affordable" motor, stock that is, next to the lsx motor.

agreed, the LT4 set up has more potential in it than LT1.. but if you were to just get the LT4 conversion and throw it all on untouched you could get more power for less if you went w/ ported stockers and a different cam. dont get me wrong, the hotcam aint that bad of a cam, but theres newer and better technology out there

Port matching the intake to the heads does indeed help flow. Port the intake behind the throttle body if you have bigger than a 52mm throttle body. The holes in the intake behind the TB are already 52mm from the factory.
