black- 1995 trans am
diff upgrade
so I don't know what the factory size gears are in my 95 trans am and I'm looking at doin a 4.10 upgrade and need some pointers on what my current size is and what else needs to be done when upgrade to 4.10

6 speed= 3.42s
auto= 3.23s or 2.73s.
The codes for the gears are on the sticker in the glovebox. It is the code that starts with GU and then a number. You can look them up online, I dont remember them off the top of my head.
Have a pro setup the gears, it isnt something to be done by an amateur.

Yes, you want a pro to do the gear change. In reading High Performance Pontiac mag. for years (back to the Thunder Am days to sow my age) there are a lot of steps and special tools involved in the change out. The question of 4.10's were discussed in LS1 a year or so ago. Try shearching and Googleing 4.10, LS1, LT1, Firebird, Camaro (ect.)
Trying to remember that with the 6 speed manual its OK as the tall over drive still gives you some MPG.
