Coolant overflow
Ok, I want to get rid of that big coolant overflow I have, and replace it w/a smaller piece that I can better hide, in the same location. My big question is this: Is the coolant reservoir a part of the closed system, in the sense that it does not need to be vented? or is it a better idea to allow a small vent for it to breathe? I don't want to do the wrong thing, and cause problems that could potentially cause air spots to be running through the system regularly. I know it's such a simple question, but it's better to be safe than sorry...

The overflow is hidden under the battery. All there is visible is the filler for it. Any overflow tank will be much larger.

I found one that is only 1.5 qts I think, and it is small enough to hang on the underside of that part the battery sits on. I already have the battery sitting in the spare tire well, and figured this would help clean it up a bit, as well as potentially relocate the pwr steering pump res. beside it underneath there... You're right, I may never end up doing it, but until I get this thought out of my head somehow I'm planning on doing it, lol.

Well then you would want a vented one. The cap is vented on the stock one.
