On ebay they have cold air intakes for $100 witha k&n filter how come the ones at speed shops and on other sites are $200 + whats the diff can i get an ebay one

absolutely, just check the backround of the seller. it could be used, slightly. if it is, then its just personal prefferance if you are willing to buy used. i myself, have no prob with ued parts. saved me alot of money.

Unless it is a name brand intake such as K&N or Moroso, it's garbage as far as I'm concerned. cheap shit. you get what you pay for.

i got 1 of the cheap ass CAI off ebay and it works great!!! with no probs at all puttin it in of anything. it was 100% new and i got it for $40 i think
95 TA A4, Black on Black C5 Z06 wheels, CAI, 160 powerstat, TB coolent bypass, TB foil, LT4 Knock Sensor, STB, SFC, Poly trans and torque arm mounts, flowmaster muffler, gutted cat, and hypertech tuned.

I'm sure i'll get piled for saying this, but a cold air is a cold air - no matter what the name says on the kit. I've had kits from Moroso to K&N to SLP, and the kit I made for my current '93 Z28 works and performs just as well as all of them. When I had the K&N system on my previous '94, the filters kept getting caught on the road (i.e. speed bumps) and damaging. The result was 3 replaced filters before I switched to a SLP kit. On the kit I have now the filter doesn't come that far down. Really, there's only so much involved with designing a cold air system.

pure and simple facts on different filter tests, an oiled gauze filter such as a k&n hasnt changed in years and doesnt filter as smaller dust and dirt particles as well, paper filters and new dry microfiber element(aem and amsoil) filters have changed drastically in the last few years and will flow very well while still filtering out those tiny dust and dirt particles an oiled gauze filter has a harder time with
