    clutch choice?

    yo, i got a 94 z slightly modded, nothing internal yet im too broke -- MSD opti and wires, pace setter mid-tubes, cold air, etc anyways i burned up the clutch bad yesterday and i need a new one i want something smooth for the street but i want it to hold what do yall reccomend?

    i have a centerforce df and im very satisfied. its the only clutch ive ever had besides stockers so im limited in exp. i would def. buy again but they are a bit pricey. sorry its not more helpful but its all i know???

    OK.. so what do you want it to hold? A stock replacement will hold bolt-on power just fine, or the LT4 clutch from SLP is a slight upgrade, with stock driving characteristics.

    Most people go with SPEC or McCleod at that point. The McCleod street twin is the best unit out there, but it's about 1000$. A SPEC 4 runs about 500-600 or so.

    I've never heard good things about the centerforce. Some people have gotten one of the Ram clutches and had good luck with them. SPEC has mixed reviews, but if you get a Stage 4 or above you're not worrying about springs breaking. The twin disc is the cream of the crop, but expensive. I'd never buy a centerforce from what I've read from owners, but if it works for you, then thats all that matters.

    A SPEC Stage 2 should be just fine for "street" clamping power.

    Yea Mcclode 600 Series or 800 Clutch disk check it out at jegs
    the disk is 194 and 200+ for the preesure plate so about 400+
    for the clutch and plate or if you do get a spec get 2+ or 3+
