    Cam choice

This summer I wanted to move onto the next upgrade and install a cam, and was originally planning for the cc305. lt4 hot cam looked mild, cc306 looked to be too much for sniffer... but I just recently checked out compcams site again and they added a few more cams... one in particular is the 280xfi, looks alittle more aggressive then the 305 but not as much as the 306... but some rpm range and lobe seperation angle are very different. can anyone fill me in?

anyone have any opinions on the 280XFI HR13? the lift looks much larger but i'm assuming thats because they are using 1.6rr? only other main dif is the lobe sep, i'm assuming it will make better top end then the 305 but more torque then the 306?

Specs: (specifies with 1.6rrs which i plan to install reguardless)
    Operational range - 2000-6000rpm
    Duration: in/ex 280/288
    d@.050" in/ex 230/236
    lift w/1.6 in/ex .576/.570
    lob sep angle 113

The cc305 is: (doesnt specify rr, assume 1.5?)
    1500-5500
    276/290
    220/230
    .510./510
    114

The cc306 is: (doesnt specify rr, assume 1.5?)
    1800-5800
    290/307
    230/244
    .510/.540
    112

If your state has emissions and you want a nice mild cam with a nice lope you could get the cc305 ground on a 112 lsa it will chop nice and it has more duration then the lt4 hotcam.

The 280 (230/236)will make more power then a cc305(220/230) . It all depends on your emissions. I have heard of people that have passed the sniffer with the 280. The 280 also is higher lift then the cc305

But its not as aggresive as the 306, correct?

only thing i'm not sure about is lobe seperation... i know it has to do with how long both valves are open at the same time, but i always assumed that the longer they are iopen together the worse overall since its waistful, no?
