    black beauty

    Ok done brandnew fuel pump coil and module and I fired it up and it ran about 10 sec and shut off so I use start fluid and she starts so my question is will the filter cause this. Last thing I have 2 change is pressure regulator and opti every thing would b new

    Have you had a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to it when it suddenly dies off? Does it die suddenly, or act like it's starving for fuel, stumble a bit, and then slowly die. If you can keep it running with sprays of starter fluid, that would answer that question.

    No stumble just dies I have not had a gauge on it and yes it stays running with starter fluid

    Sounds like it's running out of fuel then if you can independently supply it with a fuel and it stays running.

    Well its full fuel. Will the filter cause this problem

    I did the same thing to my truck when replacing fuel lines, ran for 2 min turned it off cleaned up the tools went to joy ride n nada, but runs on ether or fuel down the tbi. Have yet to pull the filter...but

    do u have a metal tank? Did u remove it? Coulda stirred up rust.

    I ain't remove the fuel filter yet but I replace the pump and it had rust build up in it. I got it used from a junk yard bout a year ago now i replace with a new one. But I have not check the filter

    A fuel filter is like 10-15 bucks. Replace it wether it's the problem or not I suppose it's possible it is the problem, but that would be too easy (and cheap).

    How would I know if the filter is bad once of the car the gas is brown looking so was the old fuel pump new pump now and now the filter if its bad

    If you replace the filter and the problem is gone, the filter was bad I suppose there could be a clog in the line, or a problem with the regulator as well. Was the new fuel pump installed correctly?

    Ok guys new pumpn and filter starts up and then die and really won't restart. Its not the icm its doesn't run long enough but what I did notice is that the security light stays on when the key is on and turns off when the is off so I think its the vats help please
