You could try pulling the air bag fuse in the fuse box and putting it back.

thanx. But I already tried that. The fuse is good.. and its in a different spot on the panel.. oh well.. getting a new rack and pinion in a few days. Mine is popping pretty bad. Only 85k miles and the rack and pinion was already bad. 92k now. I wonder how I can figure out which bag is the problem?

Have you disconnected the steering shaft lately. If you did you could have broken the coil in the sreeting wheel if you turned the wheel to far while the shaft was disconnected. Make sure when you do the R&P that you keep the wheel locked. If the coil breaks, you could set off the air bag.

No I have not done any work on my car in a few months or more. I have not even washed it until a few days ago. How can I tell if one of the air bags is bad? Or which air bag it is? Is there any troubleshooting on this kind of thing?

well I disconnected the battery for about 30 min to reset it, and that didnt help =) hmmm According to the haynes book, theres only one sensor on the 97+. And its located under the center console. Maybe on my day off I can play with it.

That sounds weird that it could have gone bad. Do you know if they go bad after they have been activated?

the sensor? I dont think so. But mine has not ever inflated or been activated. Dang I love this 70 degree weather we are having today...UGH.. makes me wanna go run at the lake.

sure I'd love to use that sensor. So far I don't know of anything else that could be wrong. I disconnected both air bags but that just made the light stay on constant without even flashing first. The fuse is good and I doubt the air bags can be bad. So, I assume the sensor is faulty. I can send you some shipping money if you have paypal. This is my sensor.

It should only be $8 or $9 shipping. LMK, and PM me your address.
