A3 or stay A4?
Well here we are again. This is my third 4l60E tranny that I have owned in my LT1 Camaro. My car is currently a stroker and is assigned to the drag strip only and im not sure if I want to go with the Th350 or 400 or rebuild AGAIN the 4l60e. I would like to hear from both people with both transmission to give insight pros cons etc... Thanks

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
question: does the "e" in the tranny code refer to electric overdrive? in which case the a4 has one but the a3 does not?

Yes. 4l60e is the electronic shifting tranmission. 700r4 is the same as the 4L60E but with out the "e". And its an 4speed Auto. I have no use of the OD auto anymore. MY car is strickly a drag car. Thats why im considering going old skool with the TURBOS

If you're blowing 4L60Es, then dont bother with a TH350. It is going to have the same size internals. If it's a drag only car, there's really no debate... a TH400 would be perfect for you.

A local tranny shop did. Turbo 400 is what I was leaning more towards. What trannies are you guys running?

TH400 = Practically Indestructible.
TH350 is a stout transmission too, they definitely seem to be stronger than 700R4s or 4L60s.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
a t400 is slightly heavier and will use a little more horsepower than a t350, but is the same length of a 7004r so you dont need a new driveshaft or have to move the crossmember. it also has a higher first gear than the t350. how much horsepower and torque is your engine putting out?
