    Angry 94 Optispark upgrade?

Can I make a 95-97 Optispark work correctly on a 94 camaro? I have heard the vented Opti last longer and would like to try it if its possible. maybe run a vacuum line possibly? I bought a new opti and it went bad after less than 1000 miles on it so when I replace it this time I want the best possible solution.

Even a non vented opti will last alot longer than 1000 miles. It was either a cheap opti (non gm), it was installed incorrectly, or there is another problem contributing to its' failure. And yes you can convert to a vented opti. I havent seen one in awhile, but at one point there were some online tutorials that showed you how to convert to a vented opti.

A vented opti I think just has the tube as 5.0 says.

What kind of opti did you purchase? I have one I took off my car that honestly I dont think was bad but I have no way to test it but I swapped it out when I changed a bunch of other stuff as well. As 5.0 said, unless it was a super cheap-o opti it should last much longer than 5k miles.

I bought a cheaper one so it's probably the issue...it wont even start now, when it did run it quit at any given moment. i was going to order an MSD opti, but I am open to which opti will be the most reliable. is the ac delco considered GM part?

YEP, ac delco is what GM used. buy that one and don't look back.

My dad has the MSD opti on his 93 as well as a few other MSD stuff. Have to figure out where to mount that MSD box he has for it.
