    YSI WS6 Build

Alright guys here it is! Build has been done for about a year and a half now but I never got around to sharing it here. Previous setup was a head cam build with a Vortech G-trim and she made about 500 rwhp non intercooled. Went from scratch and a minor upgrade a purchased a Vortech Ysi. Engine was built about 10 years ago but here are the specs. LQ9 block and bored over .030. Diamond -28cc forged pistons, and Eagle 4" stroke crank and rods. Cam is a speed in SC4 Cam 234/240 .576/.588 114. Heads are Patriot Stage III heads with a FAST 92mm Intake. Setup is changing in a couple of months in the quest for power to AFR 245 73cc heads and a custom cam 251/263 .651/.651 114 as well as an MSD airforce 102mm manifold. Running an Alky control methanol injection kit, kenne belle boost a pump to a Walbro 450 intake going to 80 lb injectors currently but upgrading to 127 lb injectors with the new H/C. Intercooler is a custom treadstone intercooler and custom piping. Exhaust side I'm running TSP 1 7/8 headers and a 4" cutout. Had to change the factory WS6 hood out for a 4" VFN to clear the blower. Lots of stuff went in and at 15 psi on the current setup I'm making 803 rwhp and 730 ft lbs of torque @ 6800 rpms. Shooting for the 1000 rwhp mark and may be pretty close. May be there after the new heads and cam. But here's some pics!

I'm actually on a built stock rear end that has been holding up pretty good but I am upgrading to an S60 after the new H/C. Been building the car in phases. So until the rearend is in I won't be caught dead at the drag strip anytime soon. Car is actually being built for roll racing but once I'm happy with where the power is at, S60 rear end, cage, and an Upgraded T56.

I build my 8.8 and have had it running for 2 yrs now. One tough SOB. My T56 is currently at Tick Performance getting rebuilt. Twice now I've broke it and had it fixed locally and still have issues. So off to Tick it went.

I'm waiting on them to tell me how bad the carnage is. When I pulled the tail cone quite a few keys and a couple of lock rings came out along with me being able to more the reverse gear freely back and forth on the output shaft.

Depending on what they find I may get the Viper out put.

My T56 had already been upgraded by a local shop with Viper internals. It's holding pretty good but I'll be stepping that up as well

So parts that were replaced when I had it rebuild due to a grenade going off, Viper main bearings, Hardened input shaft. New 5th gear (Cracked it) and hardened 2nd gear (Cracked that too). Upgraded Shift forks, carbon blocker rings, billet keys, bronze forks. No face plating. But this transmission so far is holding 730 ft lbs without an issue and 500 ft lbs off idle. I'm not much of a speed shifter. This is a roll race car mostly so it's a little easier on the rest of the driveline but I am planning to go with an upgraded 6060 next year.
