I once had a Mazda, GTX which was fairly rare(only 1500 were made). The badges said..."DOHC 16V Intercooled Turbo"..."Full Time 4wd"..."323" and even ..."MAZDA", but "GTX" was nowhere on it inside or out but all the literature called it a GTX.

That's just to show how important a badge really is... or should I say isn't. Did I ever think about getting a Plymouth GTX badge and putting it on it?...No...not in the 8 years that I had the car.

I would have had an "Uncle Ben's" badge made up for that!

By the way, I took all of that off except "MAZDA" and "323" especially since it had a special paint scheme anyway.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

badges, like the car, are an extension of the one's personality and how you customize it to be unique to your own. If i saw a ws.X badge on a car, i would assume that it has been modified in some form or fashion and recognize they are just trying to show that.

just like you're haircut, your choice in clothes, your eye glasses, a badge is just one more item you can use to be identified.

I find this thread extremely interesting. The one thing everyone must remember, is that everyone has their own opinion, and must also respect the opinion of others (no matter how wrong they are ).

That's really what it boils down to. I used to get into arguments with another person from this board because no matter what I said he felt was wrong because it wasn't what HIS car had.......(yea that kind of person)...at the end of the day 'to each is own'

whether you put your money into buying a ws6 or making a replica doesnt really matter both have a LS1 engine right(98-02), and dont quiet a few of us end up changing those slight differences anyways, the way i see it if its a trans am i love it, but given the choice i would take a ws6 over a bone stock T/A mainly due to the fact that its already slightly modded and im not exactly rich. anyways heres another question for yall, im about to get a WS6, but i was wondering someting. this one is factory equipped with a hurst shifter, did all ws6's come factory equipped with one, or was that an option on any trans am not just the ws6?

That was an option on all Trans Ams. Some have them, some don't

Here is what I found about Pro AM Firebirds
The Pro-Am III Firebird was done by a company in Chattanooga, TN. The cars are base V6 Firebirds with large "Pro-Am III" lettering on the doors. The stock hood got a fiberglass ram air scoop attached to the top (looking the Firehawk/WS6 hood), but it's not functional. It also got side skirts, a dual outlet muffler, a numbered plaque, two-tone paint, chrome 5-spoke 16" wheels (with the original base tires), and different bumper covers.

Do you know what company did these? Mine is a V8/6 spd. I guess they did some V6 and some V8? My car also looks lower than stock. Is there a way to measure? Thank you for your help!
