Well if your going to buy something to stick in a garage and look at. Go find a Firehawk I see far less of them around there a numbered with look plaques and crap like that. Or get a Blackbird Trans Am, again far better than a plain ol WS6 and it comes nicely modded.1998 Trans Am 85k miles.

I had to laugh when I read the remark that these cars wouldn't be worth much, the prices are dropping. 1982 I was buying my first car. I looked at a 1972 and a 1976 Camaro 2500.00. A 1970 Cuda, 800.00. A Roadrunner, early 70's, 1500 and a mustang mach 1 for 1000.00. I ended up buying a midget for 3000.00. The cars were a dime a dozen. Given the facts that Firebirds were discontinued in 2002, I dont see them coming back out, and wouldnt if the do like the gto and bring in a foreign car, and the fact that year was the fastest Firebirds made, They could be worth something in a few years. Remember, 2002 were some of the lowest production numbers.

- 98 T/A w/a little mods...
Seeing how I just went through all of this in the last 3 months, here is my 2 cents....
I looked at all kinds of Trans Am. I came across a couple of Firehawks, many WS6's and a couple of Stock T/A's. I ended up getting a stock 98' T/A.
Main thing is what you want to spend vs what you want to get vs like all the above post are saying...Are you wanting it as a DD, weekend car, project show car, or a track car. Figure out what you want it to be when it is all said and done. That way you look for one that meets your goal and needs.
I sort of picked mine because of 2 things...the Firehawk I was going to get, something happen while we were working the deal (car engine was heavy mod'ed, developed a sever knock on test drive) and the one I ended up picking was because I decided that I want this to be my first project car that I build and learn from...
Best of luck in your decision....
