WS6 SLP and Hooker headers
Next Monday my 2000 WS6 is going in for a high profile custom grind cam package, Hooker headers and cold air induction. It currently has SLP Loud Mouth and a 3" Y pipe. I've read here and heard some clips that say that SLP Loudmouth and Hooker headers don't sound so good. I was wondering if that applies with a cam upgrade or not. I saw one clip with a similar setup at ls1sounds that sounded pretty sweet but it was from inside. The shop I'm using says it'll be fine and I can always swap out the SLP with Magnaflow or something else if I don't like it. Any input appreciated.

Gonna be loud as balls. A kid in my HS had LM and hookers, it sounded nice but loud. My friend has LM and KOOKS on his 02 WS6, and an FM13. Loud as fuck but he also dont have cats and is on the stock resonator. Sounds beautiful IMO, especially when its warmend and ur sitting at a light, every1's gonna turn and look.

Yup, gonna be real loud. How do the Harley Davidsons get away running open pipes all the time? Anyway, you can always put a quieter exhaust on it later! My Hooker long tubes and 3" ORY made a big loud difference, with an (old) Midas Raven performance muffler, with the stock cam. Mine kinda sounds raspy now, but good also. Mine sounds real similar to the intro at this web site. I do think the sorta raspy sound helps knock out the droaning/resonating at certain RPMs that some exhaust systems have. When I am cruising at any speed in almost any gear there is no noise issue, only when I am gettin' on it.

It may sound sweet, but the damn thing is $600. You may as well get someone to do a custom true duel setup. Also, get pacesetter LT's. All LT's are pretty much the same. While you are getting the custom cam, get a set of chromoly pushrods, and LS7 lifters. That way you can get some RPM out of her too.

I think Im gonna go with Jethot headers and Y-pipe with a Magnaflow catback.
I thought about true duals but its not worth the hassel with installing it and emissions.

All headers are not about the same, some have tuned length (equal) pipes, (Hooker Super Comps, for example), some do not (Pacesetters). You would put an equal length intake on, so why not equal length exhaust?

I thought that the borla's sold for close to 750, money's not much of an issue for me(single, no kids) but i'm still not gonna fork out that kind of money for a damn cat-back its magna flow for me.
I'm having my pacesetters installed on monday alond with my 228 cam wonder how they're gonna sound with my flowmaster(came on the car when i bought it) gonna do away with it in the next couple weeks.
