i did som serious manipulation. i thought it was hella gay that the rims covered up the rotors, so i cut the axle part from the inside rim, glued that to the axle, glued the rotors to the outside of that and glued the ws.6 rims to the rotors. no sping, but looks accurate.

OK guys, I have seen the ram air model on ebay before it was released. Now that I know it is out there I had to go run and get myself one. I will post my progress as I build it. So far I have prefit the body making sure everything fits. The hood had to be filed so it didn't go over the headlights. Next I primered it with dupli-color auto primer sealer from any auto store.

The primer stage. Next is a fine wet sanding then paint. My car is white so I am going with brite white from dupli-color.

Hey westx, the stripes are not a bitch at all. I just got done with a hurst olds with stripes. After I primed I painted the body the color of the stripes. When it is completely dry tape off the stripes and paint the color of the car. When the paint is almost dry to the touch pull the tape straight up and off. If you wait too long the paint will peel off away from the tape. I suggest trying it on an old model becaus it is a bitch stripping off the paint to start over. Good luck. I should have more pics up of my progress later tonight.

yeah i found that out the hard way when i did a 2 tone on an 87 gran national kit. but i still think it would be hard to do stripes like the ones on my car. did u check out my home page to get a look at em? i'd have to cut some super thin tape strips to do the pin striping. i bet i could pull it off tho.

I saw your web page, nice graphics btw. The best way to do it would be to draw out a template and transfer it to masking tape. That way both sides would be identical. I will post a pic of a 72 chevelle I did with two tone and pinstripe.

The body is almost ready for clear. I need to put on the decals for the marker lights and let them sit at least three days before clearing them. The black is painted on with gloss black dupli-color auto paint. It should shine up really nice after the clear goes on.

thanks for the comment. thats a good idea, ive heard of that method but i just didnt think about it. ill have to do several practice runs before paint. but first of all i need to find the kit! haha the engine looks good tajoe. do u guys have any tricks to keep dust from getting on wet paint? i usually let it dry upside down on a stand under the top of a clear display case cover. but i dont think it lets the paint breathe enough even if i prop up one end of the cover, and dust still finds its way up under there. pisses me off

The chevelle. Talk about a bitch, I had to strip this down because I screwed up on the las coat and it ran like a mother!!!!! A full day of paint wasted, but worth it in the end. My best paint so far.

ok, originally i was gonna ask you to buy the 2nd one that i have still in the box. BUT. i figured to just suggest looking for one in other stores such as hobby shops, toy stores, etc. Walmart doesn't have it all. Just don't buy it from eBay b/c they are like 30$ and totally not worth it.

if you're intrested in buying mine, you can have it for $16 [$12 +shipping]

lemmie know, i just think it'll take too damn long to get to you.
