    WS6 Hood sources

I have been away from the forum awhile. I am in the market for a new WS6 hood. Is this the one I should get. I have friends who have a body shop who will be painting the car and fitting the hood.

For the most part the fiberglass hoods are all the same. The body shop will have some misc fitment issues and will probably have to do some sanding to get the lines right in the car but it'll work perfectly fine as a ram air hood.

Thanks. I just didn't want to get one of really inferior quality.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know sun coast is a popular brand that a lot of people use and sfn is the other one. Usexotics on eBay is THE hood to get tho. He only makes a few at a time but they are all hand made and top notch. Lots of buzz about that guy over the years.

Thats not the same guy. This one is made by US Exotics tho...its a superhawk hood "beefed up version of the firehawk hood" instead of the WS6 but he does make WS6 style hoods as well.

Roger makes some good stuff I've seen a bunch of his hoods over the years on line and a couple in person. If I ever decide to replace mine I'll probably pick up one of his super hawk hoods.

I ordered my Trufiber hood from the WS6 store several years ago for under $550 with free shipping. The only thing I don't like about my hood is that it has Trufiber badge riveted underneath the hood. Otherwise it was a great price and quality.

Another vote for US Exotics. I have a WS9 hood from them, had it for over 5 years, and not one issue.

Keep in mind to find a hood that is prepped for the hood shocks. My convertible has an aftermarket WS6 with no shocks, and its a pain to get my homemade prop out of the trunk every time I need to get under the hood.

I can say VFN has good work on their hoods, and they have the lighter struts too. My WSQ hood turned out very nice.
