WS6 hood FTW!

I had already de-baffled my hood (I have an electric cutout, TB bypass, tune and lid so far) but tonight out of boredom i bought some weatherstripping from Home Depot that was about 5/8" tall. I put it around the opening in the hood so it would seal to the airbox and to be honest I was very surprised at how much of a difference it made. My guess is that the air coming in was getting deflected and not just going into the air box... but now it does, so my car is even faster than it was before! Significantly so, in fact.

He took 5/8 thick foam wether stripping and attached it to the inside of the hood where the ram air nostrals meet the air box creating a sealed path for the air

true story. i was also surprised that it helped as much as it did... let's just say traction's more of a problem now!

I ahve mine wide open, not sealed and have no issues breaking traction in first or second, with an M6 mind you.

You cut open the nostrils on the hood and create a sealed path for air... what would that do to your 0-60? Nothing!! This may net you a couple more horse under optimal conditions I bet... but you may also catch a rock or water in your hood!

You don't take out the honey comb covers, those stop plenty of larger trash already I don't ahve the hood sealed but the both baffels are removed, and so far no measurable amount of water has entered asn trash has been minimal besides bug parts, you just ahve to be smart about it.

actualy.. it makes quite a difference. it forces all of the air coming in through the nostrils to be accessible to the engine via the airbox, and it keeps engine bay air out. iat on HPTuners changed from about 88' to about 78' when i logged it earlier and that's probably the only difference... (for $8 and 5 minutes, not a bad mod)

as far as water's concerned, that's why I have a K&N. if it's raining hard enough to vaporlock my oiled filter intake, I won't be driving the car.

Bugs and trash? Isn't that what the air filter is for? I can see a debaffled and seal making a significant difference.

i hope u guys thers a one inch kit for the stock hood to make a tight fit..
