ws6 cam package and nos questions

Whats the best cam and nitrous packages to put on a stock ls1 engine? I have been thinking pretty hard on putting the magicstick cam in my car. Im looking forward to getting some opinions on what would be the best for my 2001 ws.6.

Do not cam the motor until you have the necessary bolt-ons.

What mods do you have done already.

There is stuff you gotta do before a cam swap.

Headers, exaust and a few air mods, nothing major. I do plan on ordering the lifters and springs when I order the cam. what bolt ons do I need first? I was also going to go with a different set of heads or I was thinking on just getting my stock heads ported, what do u guys think? Also was thinking on 4 10's, will that be okay with my stock readend and 6 speed stalk tranny?

Well I believe one should upgrade the whole drivetrain on a 6 speed before going into the motor. ie. rear end, clutch, driveshaft etc. I've seen head/cam cars with 18' rims and stock rear end that run 12s (sometimes worse)cause they can't launch it right. Pretty gay imo. A 12 bolt/9 inch is exspensive but a great investment.

well i just went through what ur dealing with... i have a 99 trans am. with headers.exhaust..cold air intake.. slp intake manifold..ported tb.stage 2 + clutch. i went with texas speed heads and cam.. 2.5 ls6 heads.228r cam. u get pushrods.ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain.. the cam has a 114 lope for a kinda stock sound.. for the street.. revs nice. good power.. but its all about the tune and supporting mods.. def think about ur rear and.. she needs a lil loving to make the beast get all the power. and subframe connecters so u dont twist ur frame.. i know its one thing after another and its expensive but its worth it.

Well thus far I have a ls1 leingenfelter Gt1-1 cam sitting here on my floor, waiting on springs. I have on my car a set of hooker headers, Already have sub frame connectors, stage 2 clutch (centerforce) I also ordered a p&p throttle body just as a temp, I'm strongly considering the typhoon 85mm intake manifold w/ throttle body, I'm kinda holding back tho because I'm hoping for the 96 or 101mm to come out soon, and then I can pair that up with a set of trick flow heads. I'm really wanting the trick flows but id probably settle for a set of used patriot heads if it was a good enough deal lol. I def want 243 casting.
