Ignition Orange/Black- 2008 G8 GT, 98 Z28 383
The WS6 almost bit it this morning
I was driving through some light rain on I-10 east towards Jacksonville this morning. As I was coming through some road construction I hit a patch where the road loked like glass from the water standing in it. No big deal, I was only going about 60MPH and I have brand new Goodyear Eagle F1's on the car and they do very well in the rain so I was not prepared for what happened next. The ass end kicked right as I made the slight curve where they redirected the lanes due to the construction. I corrected it, but the car never did regain traction. I did everything right, did not hit the brakes and just let off the gas, steered with the spin and still ended up in a perpetual left right fishtail careening towards another car. I finally decided to go off the right side of the road and into the guardrail instead of hitting the other car so the next time the ass end kicked right I went with it and went off the road. I took out one of those orange barrels and went off into the grass. Luckily there was not a guard rail or a concrete barrier and I spun around backwards and rolled to a stop. I have had extensive training from my job on how to correct a spin and other assorted advanced driving but today the car seemed like it had a mind of it's own. I must have hit a patch of oil or something else slick on the road. It was scary, and I am thankful that I did not hit anyone or destroy my car. Sorry for the long post but I had to share. Be careful out there.

Did you have to throw your underwear away? Nothing worse than feeling a car go out from under you like that -- especially when you are not expecting it. Glad everything is mostly ok.

gotta love hydroplaining. I've had it happen a few times my self in my truck and my WS6. When it rains to where there is standing water on the road, I back my speed way down sometimes as low as 50 to keep from doing that. The problem is the width of the tires.
The wider the tire the greater the chance it will "float" cause the weight of the car is spread out over a larger area.

what F1s were you running? Not all of them are good in the rain. The GSD3s are the best for wet driving conditions.
