I had a problem with my SLP lid and bellow at first. The lid would not sit right. Too far forward so not a good seal and the lock tabs would come undone. I have a K&N Filter too. Quick fix, just had to readjust it, make sure you jam the bellow good on the intake, as far as you can and lid to the MAF. Tuck the front of the lid into the airbox. It sits fine now, good seal, and the tabs lock down now. Hope this helps.

Did my own exhaust and will do my own head and cam package. I am in medical scool so to say my install is wrong is highly unlikely. I will PM you the photo's when I get a chance. May be a week or so due to schedule.
    Looking forward to it.

I have a Direct-Flo and it fits great. I'm not sure if you can still buy one.

Sorry to get in on this a little late, and I see that you already had a thread on this last may, but I have the same intake on my 01 T/A and I love it. I also agree with the pain in the ass install!!! But it looks nasty as hell, it's different than what EVERYONE else has, and I noticed a decent improvement. Great buy if you want to spend the extra Ca$H

if you buy an slp lid you will pick up some power over that pos. those things actually decrease your peak HP #'s.

It looks to me like the SLP logo is cast into the plastic...maybe someone who has one can chime in on that.

You could get a Whisper or MTI lid, it looks easy enough to peel the stickers off those. Just use a little acetone or "Goo Gone" on it.

I agree with you, btw. The bird decal looks great on a lid, I'd like to do the same thing when I get one.

The newer aftermarket SLP lids have the white-painted "SLP" embossed into the plastic. It can be sanded out & painted over.

Some of the ones I've done are shown here. Two are the aftermarket lid, one is the OE Donaldson/Blackwing.

Your work looks good. Tell me more about the intake plate, what is it made out of, what colors can you do them in, how it attaches(double stick tape I assume).
