It has heat extractors like a Firehawk hood. Here's a picture I found online. I haven't had good enough weather to get good pics yet.

No, they are open. They just aren't located directly under the external ports. They are located above the manifold and the heat is routed back out the ports.

I got mine from Thunder Racing back in '99. Fiberglass, looks just like factory, same air openings. works with stock struts, nuts bolt, no shaking, no bowing...paint looks just as good today as then! Very minor fitment problems (as with all). Don't know if they still sell them or not.

Hmmm....been so long M, I can't remember! But I do remember it was very reasonable though, and depends alot on the prep work before painting. Thunder was a sponsor back then, don't know if they still are or not. I think the hoods were actually made by ASCD (American Sports Car Design). A lot of the members here had em'.

awesome, i guess i'll have to call around a few places and see what i can get them to do it for.. hopefully around or under $200.. they fit in with all the stock parts, hood struts, and have the same openings as the ws6? (i mean not like suncoast's set up)

Right. Mine had the same openings, etc., as the Ws6, and you used your same struts, nuts bolts, etc. $200.00 sounds about right I think for what I paid for painting and installation.

Just throwing this out there, if you like heat extractors and one-piece snorkels:

    http://www.lmperformance.com/3092/1.html

It's made by Mecham. I've only seen 2 other cars with this hood. Ordered one for mine, got it, but I haven't put it on yet. There's going to have to be a little cutting and smoothing, but other than that, it looks great. The nostrils are open and have some wire mesh at the front... should work well with a raised airbox. I'm waiting to put it on because I'm going to have the whole car's paint touched up, blended, and re-cleared at the same time.
