this is a photo of my ramairhood .com hood. i am very pleased with it. its all about the quality of the body shop. all hoods require some amount of cutting in. then its just the prep and paint. i had an awesome shop do the work. the only down side to these hoods is because they are so lite they do not use the hoods shocks to hold the hood up. they provide a prop rod instead.

i forgot to mention that the hood is fully functional as the oem hood. if you want more air flow you would have to remove the baffles also. but the baffles keep the water out while driving in the rain.

the hood doesnt come with any provisions to mount the old shocks. the reason is the shocks have quite a bit of tension stored up in them , because of the metal hoods they were intended for, the plastic hood will bow from the pressure of the shock trying to open up. the entire hood only weighs about 25 lbs

you can buy the hood either way. i didnt get the air box then because i planned on other work down the road and i was going to pick one up on ebay or the junk yard. but i believe they do sell the complete raised air box for the hood. i just didnt want to pay a lot for it thats all.

It's all good. A guy from my car club just recieved his and couln't be happier. The fit was perfect, esp compared to other companies where they are known for cutting the hood and inch too short.

I purchased mine through ramairhoods and am rather pleased with it. It came missing the prop rod, but their customer service dept had that in the mail the same day I called. I bought the pre-painted one and was scared my paint might have faded enough there might be a difference since mine is a '98 and I bought the hood in '05, but the paint matches almost perfectly. I notice a little shake when I go over speed bumps, but nothing terribly bad.

98GoldTA is right...you can't use the factory hood shocks or you will warp your hood. That's probably the part I like least about the hood...not into prop rods.

As far as fit, I did have to wallow out the hinge holes to make the hood fit perfectly, but that was about it.

I use the Volant CAI with it and love the look/sound.

Anyone get one of the Raptor hoods? I like the Firehawk look better, I don't like the splitter thing between the 2 holes on a stock, but still might buy one for a good price.

US Exotics WS9 hood. If you buy it at the right time on Ebay, you can get a killer deal with cheap shipping.
