Depends on what condition the 79 is in have to say I always loved the 6.6L hood. Preferably Black and tan smokey and the bandit style. I had a chance to get one like 10 yrs ago kinda beaten condition, but would have been a great project. really wish I would have got it. I like the late 70's TA's but would agree a 69 would be better or mabe a early 70's with the 455.

I've given up on a 69 Firebird.... Either they are totally rust beyond repair or priced so high you get nose bleeds.

Would have to be almost show-quality '79 for me to pull that trigger.

Not on my cars worst day, I HATE those cars, I'd rather have almost any other muscle type car if i was buying, or as mentioned a 69 if trading

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Maybe, if it looked like the car that rolled into a cruise in at one of the Sonic's out here. I talked to the guy that owned it. He'd purchased it 2 weeks before and this was it's 1st time out. All original, 1 owner (he was the 2nd owner) '77 TA with just over 14,xxx on the odometer. Kept in a heated garage it's whole life. Original air in the original tires. Carousel Red (Hugger Orange for a Chevy) with leather saddle (tan) interior. T-tops with an 8-track tape player. T/A 6.6 (Olds 403) with a TH350 and 3.42 gears. GIANT hood bird. Damn thing still smelled new inside.
Finest Mullet Mobile I've seen since they were new. And I remember when they were new...
