1995 was the last year of the 302 HO in mustangs, rated stock at 225hp to the crank, about 200 to the wheels. 94-95 mustangs are slower than the rest of the 5.0 mustangs b/c the foxes weigh a decent amount less. my 1990 mustang is basicly stock w/ gears, shifter, alum driveshaft, and some tires and i whooped on a 95 w/ cobra intake and 3.73's the other night.

as for you beating him, look at his rear tires, if he's got anything under 255 i wouldnt consider him much of a threat, listen for a cam, a 302 wont make 320hp without a power adder or h/c/i, my buddy has a h/c/i 331 (331 = stroked 302) that only makes 315 to the rear wheels.

also, correct me if i am wrong but an SN95 (94-95) 5.0 is heavier than a T/A?

you'll prolly beat him by 3-6 lengths 1320

    put money on it

Yea the foxes weighted about 500 lbs less then the 94-95 so isnt that like close to .5 secs faster?

I ran a fox style mustang at the track. All I know is it had a cowl hood, it was a stick and had some type of slicks, either street or drag, he beat me in the 8th casue he took off the line like a rocket. I was catching up close to the end, he only beat me by about 2 cars mabey.., he passed the line at 74mph, I was running just under 84
You got him no problem even if he has full bolt ons.

Beat you in the 8th mile? It wasn't stock, stock 5.0 foxbodies have no torque

I know. It was close tho, The Cowl hood gave it away... I was chasing him down the hole race, if he wouldnt have "LAUNCHED" like he did I would have killed him, but I had 10mph on him at the finish. All I know is that it was a fox body, not even sure if he was running FI or mabey not even a 5.0.

In person I have only seen 1 really good strong 5.0. It was in my 88 WS6, it was mean for a 305. Beat the all the 5.7L 350 TPI 3rd gen fbodys I ran across that were stock.
Even a strong stock Ford 302 is wimpy compared to even a poor running LS1 or LT1.

Yea those foxes, have a lot of potential, being because they are so light. My friend has a 89 fox with 330 to the wheels and probably running mid 12s. It beat the shit out of a terminator

Thats not that great, im making jsut under 340rwhp and run mid to high 12s with a car that weighs 3474 last time i weighed it. With slicks i could be mid 12s all day, possibly on a good day see low 12s. But who cares soon i will be making 400+rwhp. Also not al lfox bodies are light, some weight 2800 and some years weighed a little over 3300lbs.

Well we are not sure what hes running yet, we are just taking a guess. All we know is that its 330RWHP and its an 89 foxbody. How much would that weight? Also have a 5 speed, and its carbed. What should he be running?

Also forgot to add its has 3.73 gears and I think its a hurst shifter and H-pipe

so whats the issue here? will he beat the 94? yep, hopefully.

a ford b cam and dart pro stage 1 heads on a 5.0 will make about ~305 to the wheels, at least from what ive SEEN.

sn95 body styles arent heavier than t/a, both being full weight, they are about the same, and as previously mentioned, the 5.0 in stock trim is significantly slower in the sn than in the fox.

i dont know why these threads always come up. is it out of fear, concern, or arrogance? do you really need affirmation that you will win or lose? what will that do for you? do you only race when you know youll win?

i guess i dont get it. the uncertainty is half the fun. i watched my buddy fuck with a 91 notchback and got walked hard in his 01 z auto. mild heads and cam fox, and i mean mild.

i guess my point is that who cares? why speculate? i know some of you are just excited and all but for christs sakes, just race and see where you stand at the end. it will be fun nonetheless. and hell, if hes got a hidden 250 shot and you happen to get walked, it just motivates you to get faster.

sorry if i sound like a dickhead.

    good luck, seriously.

from past experience racing LS1's with fox mustangs, if the fox beats the LS1 off the line, the tides are often turned past the 1/8th b/c the ls1 owns the 302 on top end
