Window motor problem any one???
Ok so not only are my door panels cracked the window motors are going out to? Has any one had to replace them. I called a few dealerships here and got qotes. One wanted 57.00 for the motor 373. to install the other one wanted 67.00 for the motor and 270 to install go figure. I thought about doing it my self but i herad they are put in there with 1/4" rivets. that sound like that would be a pain. also i have heard that do to a lovely gm fubar design once agian that the motors themself do not get enough power and this why they go down slow. Does any one know if that is true. I have seen kits that say they fix this problem but do the work thanks for any advice guys

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
Most auto parts stores sell them for ~$50, here is a write up so you can do it yourself and save a few hundred bucks.

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
To fix that pesky screw up by GM hit up the Autotrix guys. They have a wiring kit to fix the passenger window. Might as well take care of it while replacing the motor.

Why not just buy the entire window regulator?

Though I have not used autotrix I've read nothing but good things about them.
As for the window motors, they can be easily replaced with basic tools. If you follow the instructions on the link posted in the second post you'll have no trouble at all.02 CETA #654 7800 miles

I replaced one in the 98 Trans Am, last year... Cost $35 for the motor. It was not really that hard, just annoying... I would try to find an smaller trustworthy company to install.
