I think you are probably on par considering the heat and the altitude.
lol yeah i said only 80 because it gets soooo hot here, that when we can race in 80 degree weather we think its cool out..

however I once ran a 14.3 with a bone stock 5.7 GTA I had, with a hundred less horsepower than a 98 WS6, granted during the winter and low elevation but your car should be in the mid-low 13's in good conditions, broken in, I'm guessing the green engine, elevation, and temperature have a lot to do with the slow times.

Glad im not the only one thats experienced issues with the A4. I have the same problem every now and then like my car wants to be a gas saving hybrid for about 2 seconds. I'll always regret not going with the M6.

Mine takes a couple seconds, too, but when it finally goes...it GOES! I don't know how many times my traction control has kicked my foot off the pedal after I punch it from a 30 or so roll.

I raised the line pressure for my shift firmness on my hypertech programmer to 50% and it feels much smoother and quicker in transition between gears.

I've heard raising the line pressure really isn't good for it.. better off just getting a shiftkit...

If my tranny goes then it will give me an excuse to do an M6 swap.

Fair enough... but just be prepared to have it cost a considerable amount more than you think... with all that you need changed...

The least I can do a swap for is somewhere in the neighborhood of $2,500. Quite the chunk of change but whatever.

I also have the option of rebuilding and getting a torque converter and shift kit at the same time of the rebuild. Less expensive and still a good holeshot setup. The previous owner of this car had the hypertech tuned to 100% line pressure. Its just a matter of time until this tranny says FU and dies.

If I were you.. I'd plan for the rebuild.. find a good 3200-3600 stall, get a shiftkit and tranny cooler.. and get it done.. before it does go and could knock out something else causing you MORE money....

True. Maybe instead of the cam I was planning for after my True Dual setup I'll go with that.

Any guesses on how long this thing is gonna hold together with 36,000 miles or less of hypertech 100% line pressure? I've only run about 50 miles on the 50% setup.

Hard to say how bad it was beat on... personally I would take care of it soon.. then you will start from scratch and have it done right... but stronger and faster

I agree with vertibird, I have a diablo tuner (not a bad buy, but a custom dyno would be better), and it changed the way my car shifts completely, much smoother. It shifts and I'm gone, compared to normal A4's.

do you guys think the hypertech turner is worth the money? the guy that owned the car b4 us had a tune in the car, he will sell it to us fairly cheap i think, but weve had them b4 in our outher vehicles and it didnt help the performance to much, im not talking about how it feels seat of the pants, but do your cars acually run quicker on the strip?

If you want the handheld design and a more effecient tune, features, etc. Buy the Diablo Predator. Much better buy.

did you see a acual performance gain? and was it enough to justify buying it?
