where to start?
okay so ive had my trans am about 3 weeks now, and apparently i've been hit with the 'mod bug.' but i dont know where to start!
i know i wanna get some kind of exhaust (but dont know what i need.. i love the deep smooth sound of the stock engine, and i want something that will project it rather than make it sound totally different) and i cant really afford headers any time soon.. so that wont really be a problem for future mods that will change the sound or anything
and i know i want to upgrade to a cool air intake
and add either strut/sway bars or the (cant think of the name)..underbody connectors?
and i wanna get nicer speakers... but skip the subs/amps. i was thinking kenwood?
any advice will be greatly appreciated!!
thanks!

would you reccoment LM I or II ? i dont really know much of a difference, but according to most peoples' posts, LM II is better for headers and what not? but is there any other real difference?

Cancel the Loudmouth.
Avoid SLP like the plague.
The Loudmouth is a great catback. As long as that is your ONLY mod.
If you plan on doing other mods (like headers) you won't want to have spent the $400 or whatever it is for the Loudmouth.
It sounds great with the stock manifolds, but raspy and crappy with headers.

yeah ive heard that alot throughout the site, but everything that ive seen for headers, they've been about $900. which would be nice to have, but probably isnt a huge priority for the next few years.. im 10k in debt.. i have like 1.2k now and i dont want to 'spend it all in one place' lol

for your first mod you should get a lid. Its $90 and a proven 8-10rwhp. Nothing can touch the hp to dloar value of a lid.
Then for nice cheap quality exhaust i would look at magnaflow or hooker. I have borla - which is great. But magnoflow or hooker are nice and are significantly cheaper.

And both sound very nice and flow as well as the SLP.
You have been pricing out SLP headers it sounds like. $900???
Jet-Hots or Pacesetters are much cheaper.

i listened to them all at ls1sounds... and personally i did like the loudmouth better than either the magnaflow or hooker.. it sounds alot smoother, whats its performance compared to others? how much hp does it usually add?

They are all roughly the same.
Want to hear mine with headers and the LM?? God it was horrible.
I ended up cutting off the LM. I loved it until I put headers on.
Just a heads up if you ever plan on doing so.

so a friend requested borla, and i went to their site to check it out and hear the clips, and that made up my mind. im going for borla, i found a site offering it for about 775, and on their site it was listed at more than 900..
does anybody know of anywhere that sells borlas any cheaper?

For that price you might as well go with GMMG's Chambered Exhaust

For a little more than the price of the Borla...you could have enough to get Pacesetters and a Magnaflow.
