PEWTER- 2001 TRANS AM WS6
What should I do?
well my ws6 is do for some work to the tune of aroud 4 grand now with winter on the way should I put that money into fixing the ta or should I put the cash into getting an new econo crap car?
I drive about 100 miles a day and I kind of need to get 33 miles to the gallon so I am leaning on the new car but that means putting the ta in the garage and letting her sit for a wile maybe even a year

Definitely store the T/A and buy a DD.
Think about driving 100 miles a day in shitty salty winter roads. It getting all kinds of dirty and having to put it through all that Jersey misery!
She'll be as good as new once you pull her out on the next nice day!
Buy a car that you dont care about to do your dirty work.

Tons of beaters out there, tough through driving one of those piles. Putting the wear and tear on the turd will be cheaper than doing it your TA.
At least you can buy alittle 4 banger, I need to have something with some ground clearance.

I've actually got a few comments here. First to Keith... The bird is lookin good. Seems like your Stranos sit a bit higher than mine. I can only fit one finger in between the tire and wheel well. I need to get the car on level ground and measure it all around. Compare with others and see where I stand.
As for the suspension Jerzy. I have the Strano springs with KYB AGX shocks and energy suspension end links. My car feels tighter than anything I've ever driven. As long as there are no big bumps in the road it's the best drive ever.
As for the beater? Get a low mile early 90's Geo metro. those things have been known to top 70mpg with the manual trans. If you want something reliable and with great mileage get a 97-99 saturn S series. The DOHC cars with the 5 speed can get mid to high 30's easy and with a few tweaks 50+ is not out of the question. Speaking from experience they are very reliable and handle like go karts. Plus the DOHC cars have almost 130hp in a 2000lb car. They are fairly quick lil econoboxes. If you can't drive stick I suggest staying away from the saturn. You may not have problems but in the saturn boards I used to frequent the automatic is known as the autotragic. You can guess why that is lol.
For all out fun I'd want a CR-X SiR It was the second car to have VTEC it had nearly 160hp it got great gas mileage and when new they would even whip ferraris of the day on a race course. Road and track named it one of the 10 best cars of all time. Sure would be fun for the autox!
