And you just wasted a lot of money for that potential instead of putting it into something that will cook the factory LS7 F-Body.

Not saying I don't like the LS7 and its potential....I just don't like the price.
The C6Z06 makes that motor what it is.

For $9K....you can build a 402/408 motor that will make 500RWHP, get 22-25MPG on the highway, and then add nitrous if you want for another 150RWHP and $1200.
So....650RWHP while spending less than the whole LS7.
it would be different strokes for different folks--- if outright power is your concern, then definately build your own--- it's cheaper and also more fun IMO. i love building my own engines.

but for the guy that wants good daily driving reliable power with little issues the ls7 is a good, albeit expensive option. it's a prestige thing too.

Thats at the block. which would be around 440 at the wheels. hence the 440RWHP

500ci LSX with a twin turbo kit!

No, but seriously budget build LS1 or LS2 with forged internals and a big shot of N20 for those hard to get along times...

The LS7 would make roughly 440RWHP (in stock form, would probably want to AT LEAST put a cam in it before installing it) for $13K-$14K.
It makes 505 at the crank....so after the driveline, give or take 15-20RWHP, 440 to the rear wheels.

at this thread and the claims of the over priced LS7. Its a great engine, at a great, expensive price.
