    2000 Trans Am

    What happens when?

    Since GM has finally called it quits on pontiac what do we do from here? What happens when all of the genuine GM parts run out? Will they stop making performance parts for our Trans Am/Firebird?
    2000 Arctic White trans am, ws6 hood, ws6 air box, slp lid, slp smooth bellows, slp loudmouth exhaust,shift kit, rebuilt trans, LS6 intake, 3.73 gears, Shaner S3 p/p throttle body, and a tune . SFC. C6 ZO6 rims 18" in back 17" in front. Drilled and slotted rotors.

    no and no....you should know that 1..5.7 parts are 5.7 parts...also they are required to supply parts for a pretty decent time..and 2) the aftermarket doesnt care about if pontiaci s around or not..the 5.7 is very big into the aftermarket..and will continue to be

    there will always be salvage yards for random small parts that go bad like a speaker cover or interior stuff. I think we'll be safe, not to mention i'm sure YearOne will pick up 4th gens on the "classic radar" in about 10 years.

    Direct replacement parts would have stopped being made in 2012 anyways. 10 years.
    Granted, many would still be available after that.

    to add a little more to this I added my car to Hagerty Insurance...They add anything rare or exotic and driven less than XXX miles a year....

    I have Grundy insurance. No mileage retrictions but have to have an everyday car and the T/A must be garage kept.

    Thats the same as Hagerty...There is a mileage retriction though..........

    Saved me about $400 from Erie and I had to park it 3 months which wasn't really a problem but cant beat this.
