Yup, the cam is the best bang for the buck. If you replace that, I recommend replacing the roller lifters, and pushrods. Especially the pushrods. Any decent cam will make peak power at around 6200-6700RPM. The stock pushrods cant handle anything past 6250RPM. Go to ws6store.com they will hook you up there. Mention that you are part of this site, and they'll give you a discount.

Definately. I have had nothing but problems since I shattered my rod. Over the last 2 years (December 2004) the car has been apart more that it has been together. About 18 months worth. I have put 5000 miles on it in that time. All of it well worth it.

Right now. Your stock pushrods cant handle 6300RPM. Thats about where our revlimiter is set to. Get a set from comp cams. The chromoly type. It will cost you about $200, and you dont have to worry about it anymore.

As far as when you need to replace them, you will hear a chatter coming from your valvetrain. You will also feel a loss of power. Its real easy to do, and you dont need to drain the oil, or even replace any of the gaskets. Its recommended to do so. I have pulled off my valve covers over a dozen times and have had no problem with them resealing.

Where in Michigan you from. I'm from a little town called Edwardsburg. Its in the southwest corner of the state.

they go for 100 here, and the best part of the install is norocker adjustment, just torque the rocker nuts to 23 ftlbs and go!!!

So on the opposite side of the state.

I dont meet hardly anyone from Michigan on this forum. Not everyone can be from the great state of Texas.

I got a buddy from Texas. Been there a couple of times. It seems like a pretty good place to be.

Yeah, Texas is the only state to have all of the different climate regions in it. Want snow, go up north. Want desert, go out west.

Sorry. I Would Say That Cam And Full Exhaust Are An Excellent Choice To "wake" The Motor Up. Nos Is Too Hit And Miss. Even When Setup By The Same Person, Some Motors Handle It, And Some Don't.

The cam, heads, forced induction, and NOS is going to get you the most power the fastest. The cam being the cheapest, followed by the NOS, heads, and forced air.
