    What does it mean when...

you are driving and an old 80s firebird or camaro (not sure) heading the opposite direction revs up his engine as he passes you. Is this a salute or a challenge? Happened to me yesterday.

Since he's going in the opposite direction I'd say it's a 'hey, cool car'

My guess is a cool salute... here in NE we do that
and then honk, with a point of the finger!

Mostly only the GM people do that... here!

Fords and ricers just want to race?
I try to not race GM, that is kinda the
unspoken rule around here! We hang tight.

Theres this high School girl lives somwhere close to me somwhere. Behind her butt-looking face in her feeble little mind her car is just the be all end all. I have yet to meet her at a stoplight but it will happen in the mean time I "growl" at her when ever I see her. I see some birds on frequent basis, a couple Formys and T/As and even 35th Aniversary and we pass each other we always rev back and forth just to say hi. So there you go a completly usless and inconclusive response.

I haven't seriously done that in years. Back when I was in high school all of us muscle car guys did it meaning, "I got your daddy, right here!" That was back in the late 70's and early 80's. That was back in the "old days" for you young guys.

It means you whip your bitch around and creep up on the 3rd gen owner and cut his mullet.

Its a mixed greeting. On one hand, your acknowledging a fellow car enthusiast. but it also gives you a chance to flex your muscle and demand respect.
