You can also start off in 2nd gear to do the burnout. I have an auto, so I don't have much experience with the M6, but when I did a cam swap in my buddies 01 SS, he asked me to make a "test" run in it. (He meant, "Do a burnout") I did a quick but sweet smoky burnout right in front of my house.....that is AFTER I turned off the stupid traction control. LOL

Finally getting around to putting new tires on the worn pair I had. I bought the tires at GM Carlisle 2016, if that says how long its been lol! I need more power, and need a line-lock. Very disappointed with the low amount of smoke.

    Line Lock FTW!!

Here's one of the best burn outs I've seen.

Also, referring to a few posts back I am thinking that "Scott" is synonymous with "Spaz" when it comes to automotive carnage. Damn...

The Kee Audio packages are very good for the price. The one I have (can't remember what level) was all CDT speakers.

Hmm, I didn't even think of trying to go to 2nd, probably because I was worried about rough drive line shock to the 10 bolt as it is.

I feel however it would have fallen on its face hard trying to start in 2nd gear. It has real good rear brakes, and I about stalled it in 1st because of that. Line lock is desperately needed. But I still worry about beating on the leaking pinion 10 bolt rear too roughly. I did my best to keep the rpm band smooth and off the limiter. You can hear slightly around 44 seconds that I hit the clutch by accident instead of the brake. Decided to let off and cool for a few seconds before attempting one last brake stand, which I chickened out on after I saw an oncoming car lol.

Mr.Lous, yyeeeeesssssss, great videos of that car. I wish he was still on here. What a car. I recall a thread on here where he sold it, to a person in Pittsburgh.

What did you do with your Trans Am today?

Went to the track last night. Got in 6-7 runs by myself and 4 against a new Mustang and a F150. The stang 1st time ravaged me cause he had drag radials and 200 shot. 2nd time was run on motor only. I just bet him by a nose. The F150 was running a 100 shot and tune. Absolutely no contest. 1st run - he jumped the light a full second before my light turn green. He got out past the 60ft when I launched, caught him by mid track and gapped by 1.5 car lengths, 2nd - 3-4 lengths, final run - I was down the return lane by the time he crossed.

No great accomplishment except from start to finish I was able to cut a second of my time and learn to trust my shift light more. Also broke into 92mph on street tires. best reaction time was .039.

Not bad for 1st time in 8-9 months.

After 16 years, the OEM, yes, OEM tires came off the front of the Camaro SS. Still looked and felt pretty good surprisingly lol. New M/T got mounted. They look good. Rears still need to be changed, but probably won't do those until spring.

    16 years....???

They must have felt as hard as nails?

When i replaced my fronts with decent newer ones
it transformed the feel of the front and how it steers.

While i am here and typing mine went through it's yearly
inspection yesterday and it had really excellent values on the unburnt
fuel, (zero), and low readings on everything else!! He also
remarked on the fact that i polish the inner wheel wells.

    Doesn't everybody???

Surprisingly the tires still felt soft. Haven't been able to drive much yet with the new front tires on due to weather.

The better question was there any signs of cracking or dry rot?

Tires can retain the firmness and look ok, but it's those signs above that are a true indicator of the tire.

So the guy who sold us the T/A is selling me some of his inventory. Getting a set of tubular LCAs for $60, replacement sockets for the DRL/turn signals, and he's going to give me a stock fuel pump assembly to swap the Racetronix into (pretty sure our fuel level sensor is going out, and the regulator on its way). Pretty good guy, I wish I had the funds to buy his other red WS6 (it's almost totally stock engine-wise). It's in really good shape for 140k+

The 8th plug ended up being all the plugs on the passenger bank, and the last two on the drivers. I need to pull of the secondary air hoses to access the plugs well enough, and didnít have replacement gaskets.

And no, I am not disconnecting the 2ndary air stuff.
