    What are the chances?

Well as most of you might know, I received a few tickets yesterday. One of which was for not having my car registered in California. So that means I have to get a smog. The only thing I am worried about is having no EGR in my LS6 intake. What do you think the chances of them seeing that is, I removed the hoses and everything so it looks clean like nothing was there before, but do they have a checklist that they have to go through that would make them look for the egr tubing? Or should I be ok? Thanks for all the help~Chris

The smog machines they use now have the check list on the screen that has to be inputed "yes" or "no" for the inspection. I think you might have a problem, but i hope not for your sake.

Some places don't give a rats about inspection, you may have to jimmy the egr so it looks attached as well with the air pump-better to find a good old boy to just ignore your problems.

Damn it I was hoping that wasn't the case, hopefully he over looks it.....do they actually have a picture of what the EGR looks in the intake as well, maybe if he asks where the EGR is I can say they didn't come in that year of car, example the 01-02's didn't have them, even though my 00 did. You think he will go for it?

I don't think so. They're pretty tight on the smog inspections. Here's a link that might help:http://www.lastofthebreed.com/Servic...sLocations.htm Do you have any other mods that might not be smog legal, i.e. MAF or 85 or higher TB or LT Headers? I wish you luck... Please let us know how it goes..

Well on a side note, in the first picture of the link you send me the purple number 12 I still have connected just not with the tubing going into the intake.......not sure if i can convince him that is the egr or not......the tube going from that is still going to the header so maybe...........

    I know....not much help.

But that is basicly what it comes down to here. We have visual and sniffer as well. Depends on the person doing the visual inspection. Some will notice the lack of EGR/AIR, others won't.

i do too, small towns are the best for finding shady inspection stations, theres one here that does lights and wipers, thats it.

but you wont have a problem passing even if you go to a more incorporated-type place.

You say I won't have a problem passing because you don't think they will notice the egr tube missing?

Man, usually small towns are the best places to go. But, you do live in Cali.
