I ran that plastic hood from ramairhood.com it shakes and flexes very badly. I don't recommend using them and I will not ever again. They also recommend removing the hood struts and they give you a wimpy little hood prop to use that barley works. The fit wasn't very good either. It came up about 1" shorter in length than the factory WS6 hood. The hood was lighter, but I didn't weigh either one so I can't tell you by how much. If your concerned about weight get a pin on fiberglass racing hood.

I'm running a Sun Coast Creations ram air hood right now. It's a fiberglass one and it doesn't shake or anything like the plastic one did. I really don't like how they did the ram air setup on it though. It dumps through a huge hole from the top of the hood and you really can't modify it much for a straight in flow like you can with a normal WS6 hood. Other than that the fit is much better, but I'm going to try another brand in the future. I'm looking at the hoods on http://www.usbodysource.com/
I didn't do any research on them yet and I didn't want to do pins so I didn't look any up, but pin ons are the lightest hoods.

SLPonline.com has some nice hoods and from what I hear there fitment is just about as good as it gets for aftermarket.

Yeah the SLP H.O. hood does but I believe they sell OEM style ram air hoods as well.

yeah i've heard pretty good stuff about suncoast, so how is the setup different from a normal ws6 hood? is it worse?

I have the ram air hood from ramairhood.com and i haven't had any problems! Great paint matching as well. no shakes what so ever and it weights a ton less! worth the cash in my opinion.

The hood being a flexible plastic would just flex and shake alot. I had people asking me why my hood would shake so much when I had people ride with me. Every bump I hit the hood would shake and bounce around. It's just the plastic isn't as stiff as fiber glass. I don't think it's anything you can fix. If it doesn't bother you then there's nothing wrong with it shaking like an addict.

haha .. well it would probably get annoying after a while.. fiber glass weighs less than plastic, right?

The spot where the air comes through the hood is from the top and not from the front like the stock WS6 hood. Which is fine if you use their air box or use a K&N intake kit. I'd rather have a factory air box with a lid or the volant one.

I got sick of it after a few weeks. The plastic one is lighter.
