Well I have the volant, not really too impressed with the difference in that and the slp lid, Ive had both. Id get the SLP just for the fact its SLP. My car came with the volant so Its staying there, but I dont drive in bad weather so its a moot point. I just drive my Probe if it rains. It never rains in texas ne ways lol

Yes, it's fine for street use and you can drive it in the rain. If you have a WS6 hood, this might depend a little on whether or not you've removed the hood baffles. I've removed my rear baffle, but have left the fronts. Some people have removed all of them and have not had a problem with rain getting in the intake. Just make sure the filters are oiled properly and you'll be fine.

The Volant is designed to fit a standard Trans Am hood. It will not seal to bottom of a WS6 hood without using a little bit of foam (or something similiar). What I've found that works very well is a tube of copper pipe insulation. You can buy it at any Lowe's or Home Depot (look in the plumbing section). It comes pre-split, has tape adhesive on the inside of the split, the coloring doesn't look out of place, can be trimmed to fit around the existing rubber seal on the box and is cheap. It works great on my box and seals to the hood nicely.

You can but when that filter gets wet no more air. and it comes with the rubber gamet to seal it and home depo has the stuff for 15cent a foot so a camaro hood could be sealed well and it does add hp better the air box the sys. pulls air stirght not up to the top of a box
