    Volant Vs. Air Lid

Would spending an extra $150 be worth it to get a volant over getting an SLP or Whisper air lid? Is there a dramatic difference? 02 WS6

ull probably gain a little, but you wont really feel it as much. I'd pocket the extra $ and use it on other parts. But it does look better than the lid.

Get the SLP airlid. guaranteed 10-15hp gain. and plus everyone knows that just having SLP on your car somewhere adds 5hp....................

I used to have a 4port hood on my old car.
So how do you think it'd work with the ss hood?

Volant looks sweet as hell when you pop the hood. A far as gains over the lid, well if you debaffle and seal it properly to the underside of your hood you have a kick ass CAI, better than a lid IMO. Does it justify the extra $150, well how much is $$$ worth to you? That is SFC or LCA in my book.

I have an 02 WS6 and I was just wondering if the volant is just a simple bolt on with no other mods. And there is no lid to it right? It's just open?

I've got a clear lid on now, but I think I like the looks of the clear lid better but the performance of the vol better

my question is this. debaffeling the hood, and sealing the volant (volant doesn't seal to the WS6 hood so keep this in mind WS6 owners) will this give comparable gains to a FTRA setup or SSRA setup? I love the looks of the volant, but if the hp gain is that much less than the other CAI setups then that's not the way i want to go

take some thick weatherstrip and it will seal right up to the hood.
or buy dense foam and cut it as needed to fit the hood.

right, weatherstripping is the way to go with the volant, but i'm looking for hp gains. FTRA, SSRA, SLP, or volant. Which produces the most?

I cant see how two cones can be better than a lid in performance. The air velocity is the same if not worse.

cause the system is sealed. those cones got real dirty in 100 miles of driving.
