There are differences between the '98 and later model years. That includes the PCM and wiring. However, I do not believe this makes it any more expensive to mod. What are your plans?

no reason to swap for stock parts.....use aftermarket and it's no more expensive to mod a 98 than any other year.

Agree. I don't think you'll find any difference in prices for those mods.

yep...they are different. 99+ had the oil galley in the rear of the block opened up to flow more oil and the mains have windows in them. Still doesn't make the 98's more expensive to mod and unless you're building a track car it makes little difference.

It is way more fun to ask here and get an easy answer than to go research a question.

No they don't come with the LS6 intakes. That's 01-02 only.

Not a good reason to deter you from the 98-00's however. LS6 intakes are cheap and very easy to replace.

Look at it this way,,,the 01-02's got the tiny truck camshaft. Much more expensive to swap a camshaft than an intake.
If you don't plan to do a cam swap the 98-00's are the better bet.

LS6 intake can be had for about $300 on ebay or craigslist. I picked up mine for $300.

we don't do this here.....if someone asks a question they get an answer. By the time you typed that up you could've actually been helpful to him.

that washes out when you do a cam and don't have to buy injectors on the 98's.

I agree, I always hated it when people would go through the trouble to log in, and respond with "do a search"

Doesn't take that much more effort to try and be more helpfull.

ive also heard that 2000 and before oil pumps tend to tear themselves to pieces and proceed to cause your block to loose oil pressure. i have a 2k and i think its on its way out. a new oil pump is definitely on my list.

LOL i wasnt trying to be a dick! I was just saying.. Because i know when i use to just post and ask a question, and you guys would answer, i still wouldnt know what you guys were talking about until i didnt a little bit of research. On my most recent thread i found the answer to what i needed just by searching it in the search bar, from a previous thread, my whole thread was just unnecessary. I was just saying what i would do now lol sorry!
