    86 Buick Grand National
    02 WS6-M6 407 RWHP

I own a 02 WS6 and a 86 grand national that runs high 11's. That rating of 235 hp stock was extremely underrated by the factory for a stock gn. Its really at about 300 at the fly wheel. As far as quarter mile time low 14's stock but there were alot of factory freaks that ran high 13.8 ish bone stock. I love both of them but i like driving a manual car better and gn's only came with the 400R but as far as sound goes there's nothing like have a big turbo 3" exhaust and downpipe and not cat and hearing your turbo screaming through your tailpipes they definately sound like a V-8.

I did race a bone stock Z28 when my gn was almost complety stock i think i only had a K&N and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. And i had no problem taking him by a couple of car lengths on pump gas and i had some shitty ass Remington tires on it when i bought it. As far as a stock grand national goes you can easily beat a stock ls1 because it might look completely stock and all he needs is an adjustable wastegate some high octane fuel along with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and he's well into the low thirteens once he takes his boost to about twenty. Those mods might cost you 120 bucks and you wouldn't even be able to tell they were on there. Your best chance is at a roll without the turbo spooled up at the line the gn's really are at a huge disadvantage.

Way late in this thread but I'd agree that a real live stock 86/87 GN would be a very low 14 car typically. But it's a moot point cause there probably isn't a stock GN in the continental US!!

    Good luck

When my '86 Turbo Regal was stock it would run 14.2 @2200 ft. altitude.
