trans am vert top motor leaks

my trans am vert top motor is leaking . Are the fittings on the motor just hardware store fittings or are they custom.

The fittings aren't anything special. As noted in my previous post, pulling the pump up out of the fender well is easy, just remove the two nuts that sit on top of the plate then carefully lift out of the well to work on it. No need to remove the lines. I'd pull the pump up on to some towels then wipe the pump off and try snugging each fitting down first. Make sure that you have a wrench on each side of each fitting so you don't accidentally pop one out of the pump housing. Just snug each one firmly down, it shouldn't take a lot of pressure to get them seated.

If that doesn't solve your problem (it did mine) you will want to find the fitting that is leaking. Next drain the fluid using a squeeze bulb or hand pump. Now take the fitting apart and apply several wraps of teflon tape then retighten.

    Should be an easy fix.
