Does the way you sit in the car affect how hard it feels like it pulls, as in you sit more layed back in the Fbody compared to sitting more straight up in the GTO?

My A4 is bone stock, definitely still "feels" fast even with a 180k on it. When I first got my M6, I was disappointed because it felt so much slower than the A4. Found out that the throttle cable was stretched, and the TB was only opening half way under WOT. After a new cable and TB bump stop mod, it rips.

Also it depends on how well the car was maintained and if it was properly or improperly tuned. From the found of all the mods on the T/A, it sounds like something was a little funky

Even running reg 87 octane doesn't make my car much slower.

I think the big difference I feel in my WS6 2002 (auto) versus my previous 94 GT (auto) is directly related to the difference in the torque converter and transmission.

The LS1 in my WS6 obviously does feel like it has more power, and is also much smoother, than the LT1, but the transmission in the 94 put the power to wheels better.

I suspect a different torque converter would make a big difference in this car.

I did own a 04 GTO M6 with a cold air kit and removed the mufflers....it ran a best of 14.0 in the 1/4. I now have a 00 WS6 A4 with a lid and a SLP LM and it runs the 1/4 in 13.5. My GTO felt faster, but I think that was due to it being a M6.

Too many variables, especially having no idea what was done to the car previously in respect to tuning. It could have been completely out of tune for all anybody knows. A stall speed isn't necessarily the answer to all of this, you would have to provide some data logging so everyone can see what's going on....

I was disappointed when I first got my car because it wouldn't get on it like like my friends car did, but then I turned off the traction control and it was a whole nother monster. Car goes sideways if you go WOT at the stoplight.

Dyno it on premium then dyno it on 87. Watch the difference...and the knocking.

Very true. I don't dare run 87 in the formula. Especially with the mods.

I never said there wouldn't be a difference just nothing you'll notice driving the car and every one says the computer changes the timing table so it doesn't knock.
The manual does not say our cars need to be run on premium (just recommended) although I would rather it.

It just cost to much sometimes, I only put 87 in when it's just a few dollars worth to get the most outta my buck. I never fill it with that or even go as far as half a tank with it.
I don't have allot of big mods done right now, I'm in school and this is unfortunately my only car right now.

    Trust me...I understand.

But the 10 cents a gallon to help your car run it's best is a whooping $1.60 more total.
I have personally seen an LSx show 10 degrees of knock on a low octane fuel.

Ya but I don't usually fill the tank so when it's $10 that can mean a lil bit more gas, premium is 20 cents more a gallon. Plus I drive the car often so it get's costly.

The auto's with 2.73's are really turds down low. The 3.23 auto's are not to bad but still turds until the mods come.
