Trans Am Decals
Im wanting to put decals on my car so it wont look so plain, but i have a couple questions. Will they come off easy when i powerwash my car? I dont want to put them on their then have them come off the first time i wash my car. How durable are they?

You power wash your car? Yikes...
It depends on the decals and what quality they are. All decals come off eventually though.

What sort of decals? A couple of our sponsors offer vinyl overlays for the existing emblems that look real sharp.

powerwash =

I hope what you meant by a power wash you meant the kind that are at the car wash
Our sponsors have some and if you want I can PM you some other sites too.
Remember vinyl is ok in moderation, our cars aren't ricers

Save your money and put it towards performance mods

There's nothing wrong with dressing up the ride as long as it's tasteful.
Most performance mods cost alot of $$$$$

If you're truly worried and got the money, buy some pre-painted ones. I think third shift studios sells them

vinyl decals/stripes are really durable and will not come off with a pressure washer.now if the stripes/decals are installed using a wet method(water/soap mixture sprayed on the sticky side of vinyl, stripe positioned, and water squeeged out)it will need a day or to to become fully cured.here is a link with some stripe kits.

I wont even powerwash in the car wash. The previous owner of my TA powerwash the front bumper to get rid of the bugs and he got rid of a line of clear coat. He ruined the bumper

I use the pressure washes after the cruises for a quick rinse but bucket wash at my house or shop the few times it actually needs a wash like if it rains coming from a cruise or getting work done at my friends shop.
I applied my overlays I got from ebay and their 3 yrs old and still stick and look new after many pressure and hand washes.
As a painter I have to chime in on the presssure washing I use it to get bugs off the bumper and windsheild after a cruise and the only time clearcoat will come off is it the old owner has visited a MAACO for work. Factory paint is the best finish you can ever get when they don't have issues that year and the only Fbody issue I have heard of is the sail bubbles. the only time paint or clear has come off a car at the pressure wash is my sisters little junk civic we had a MACCO job done on. Evey bumper I have painted including my own can and I have pressure washed it at close range but as I tell everyone noe pressure or drive thru washes for 30 days till the paint is cured. If you have clear pealing the only way to fix it is stripp the paint to primer and start over so you make sure you get the old crap completly off or it can come back. I have fixed a few bumper from dealers doing quick sale used car bumper paint jobs and a few MAACO but I tend to turn cars that have been to MAACO away since it is usually too costly and time comsuming to fix. I rather have a keyed car with factory clear coming off from never being waxed than a MAACO job sincew there jobs have to be stripped to primer on most panels and I charge at least an extra grand for a paint job if it's been to a budget shop.1998 Trans Am 85k miles.
