I got a question, is it easy to swap gears in cars, because I think im gonna take the one out of my trans am and put it in the new one, the new one is stock gears and my old is 3.75 gears. would it be kinda like fixing an axle bearing?

Painting it black would just be soooo wrong.
Go find a black car, & leave this one to someone who can appreciate the color!

well, I called the dealership hey got it replaced at and he did say that got it replaced, he said it should be a 98 engine, but he didnt say for 100% it was. Not sure why they would put a 98 in it in 03 but whatever. So ya its a new engine, so im for sure gonna get the car. Now just gotta see if I can talk him down somewhat.

I know you already bought it but how come it has a color only available in 01 and 02 on a 98. Even if it was in a wreck and repainted it seems like a good deal. The rear tail lights seem to be in good condition with a car with that many miles so maybe they've been replaced.

    Thumbs up

1998 was the last year for that cayenne color. Not bad looking. Different.
Like SOM better....still would like a SOM Firehawk one day...

Hope this answers some questions about the color.

    Good luck on the sale.

man, that's a nice freaking car...seriuosly, why dump 5k or more into a paint job? you can probably finda black car for near that price. SOM is so rare...i know i'm beating a dead horse.

But if everything checks out, then get it

Well, I got it. The paint is chipping and there are some rust spots where the car was dinged, like on the car door and what not, so I pretty much have to get it painted anyways. Ill take some pics of my car later today. But the inside is better then my old car, the seats both work, my doors arent cracking, no crack in the dash, the lights on the strearing wheel work No tick when going from "R" to "D" but so quiet!! I need to get a cutout makes it sound so much more badass. Ill be puttin MY LT headers on it sometime next week.

I rear ended someone with my old one ya this one is a 98. Im not sure what what im going to do with my old one, it still drives fine, but air bags went off so I need to get them rewired and what not, so I just bought a new car :O 6,500 for an 18k engine T/A sounds good to me. after I replace everything on my new T/A with my other then Ill figure out what to do with the old trans am. So it will be back to stock basicly other then the cut out and 3.75 gears.

if the hood is still intact on the old one I would put it in the new one while you are getting it painted.

Congratulations on the purchase! Actually the color isn't that bad.. I prefer this over candy apple red. But like third shift said, it's a lot of money to sink around $5000 into a black paint job. You might want to really think it over, especially moving from a light color to black. It's a big job.
