Traction Control?
Can you only get traction control on autos? My WS6 M6 doesnt have it. I figured it would have been a standard option. Whats the deal?

It's called ASR on Camaros. An option, regardless of tranny.

How does it affect performance? I know a few times when Im uhhhh cruising red light to red light next to a ricer I get a little too heavy on the foot and end up doing long burnouts. Would TCS help me out there?

basicaly tcs button is a waste of a lighted switch when i dump the clutch in my car with the tcs on it will break loose for a split second then the gas pedal shoves my foot back at me so it will regain traction... when its off.... i fear for surrounding traffic, pedestrians and my tires....... im soo used to it now i get in my car start it and turn it off i dont even think abotu it anymore.....

Oh, I thought maybe it had more to do with than just cutting off the fuel.

Me too, It was an option a $485 dollar option I do believe. It is an option on M6 and Auto tranny as well.
As far as if it is needed: Many will act all macho and say "if you can drive you don't need it". Well if that is the case you don't need airbags, seat belts, ABS, rear disc brakes, crumple zones etc.
My point is... It is a safety feature, that works extremely well will engaged.
I turn mine off most of the time, because I like to "play" but I have left it engaged during wet conditions or short trips that I don't intend to "play".
Sure in a perfect world, where we are all Professional drivers and never make mistakes and we drive perfectly it isn't 100% needed. But it is a nice option. Especially when you get caught out with your car, and it starts raining hard.

Sounds like you need practice, You should not be roasting the tires that bad. Holy Cow, most cars that line up beside you, couldn't hang even if you started in 2nd gear, so I don't feel the need to gun it out of the gate.
I take off swiftly and make sure I have traction and then roll the throttle to wide open, then usually shut it down by the end of 2nd gear. which is 70+ mph.
But i rarely, street race. If I do, It is usually highway. Street light to street light isn't worth it, Tickets, jail, safety, etc.
