    Traction Control?

Can you only get traction control on autos? My WS6 M6 doesnt have it. I figured it would have been a standard option. Whats the deal?

It's called ASR on Camaros. An option, regardless of tranny.

How does it affect performance? I know a few times when Im uhhhh cruising red light to red light next to a ricer I get a little too heavy on the foot and end up doing long burnouts. Would TCS help me out there?

Me too, It was an option a $485 dollar option I do believe. It is an option on M6 and Auto tranny as well.

As far as if it is needed: Many will act all macho and say "if you can drive you don't need it". Well if that is the case you don't need airbags, seat belts, ABS, rear disc brakes, crumple zones etc.

My point is... It is a safety feature, that works extremely well will engaged.

I turn mine off most of the time, because I like to "play" but I have left it engaged during wet conditions or short trips that I don't intend to "play".

Sure in a perfect world, where we are all Professional drivers and never make mistakes and we drive perfectly it isn't 100% needed. But it is a nice option. Especially when you get caught out with your car, and it starts raining hard.

I dont feel like researching it, But your car isn't possessed. It is working properly.

It isn't a single stage ASR, TCS, It is a dual, or maybe even a 3 stage traction control System.

Google it, I am sure it is explained.

Sounds like you need practice, You should not be roasting the tires that bad. Holy Cow, most cars that line up beside you, couldn't hang even if you started in 2nd gear, so I don't feel the need to gun it out of the gate.

I take off swiftly and make sure I have traction and then roll the throttle to wide open, then usually shut it down by the end of 2nd gear. which is 70+ mph.

But i rarely, street race. If I do, It is usually highway. Street light to street light isn't worth it, Tickets, jail, safety, etc.

Exactly; it is very helpful in the rain. It's a press of a button to disengage if you need a quick start; that's what I do.

yeah mine has it its like ABS for the gas pedal. Does just that jambs the gas pedal up when you get the low trac light. It makes bonzai starts slow but my wife likes it because she would be off the road without it.
