    Question Traction Control

Well, my T/A came with everything but the owner's manual. Does anyone know if the TCS can be turned off while in motion without causing issues, or should it only be done while in park?

In that case the same can be said for anti-lock brakes, air bags, and all other saftey features. It is a safety feature, and shouldn't be frowned upon. Embrace technology.

I personally like not having to baby the gas pedal or the car when the roads are wet. I try to drive fairly safe anyway, But I have noticed with the TCS off, and it being wet out side, This tires will spin too easily. Yes I said "too".

    Please Help!!

Alright, I just bought my car; a 1998 Trans Am. It was a former Police vehicle. Now, the problem is, there is NO switch to turn the traction control off. It's very frustrating. So, I need to wire my own in. Can anyone tell me where the wire for the traction control is?

No switch means no traction Control. Only thing you would have is Torque management.. which can be turned off with a tune.

That is what I was thinking. I tried doing some research to see if 98's were different, but I couldn't find anything.

Maybe - A cop package removes the button, and keeps it "on" all the time, I dunno.

Easiest test is throw down some water, and start spinnin' em.

If you feel the gas pedal pressing back up against your foot, and you can feel the car almost cut off. Then it sucks to be you

Oh, alright. I actually pick the car up from the dealership tomorrow, and I'll find out quickly if it has traction control or not. Thanks for the input!

Although, I'm curious if this Firebird will run as well as the Camaro's with the B4C cop package. I don't know what was done to those cars, but I know for a fact that an SLP Camaro can't get around one...

Check your RPO Codes, NW7 : TRACTION CONTROL - ELECTRONIC
    NW9 : TRACTION CONTROL - ELECTRONIC.

I got a ws6 so it has no traction control, pretty sure they never came with it?

Fairly certain that it doesn't apply the brakes in our car. Just pushes the gas pedal back into your foot.
