Wow doing the "ole hippie" hair thing? Thats awesome tho.

My dad is 51, recently bought him a 66 Galaxie with a dual carbed 429 in it. He's owned hot rods all my life, since he never got his "boy" until I was already grown and out of the house, he taught his daughter everything there is to know about going fast. I've been readying myself to buy a WS6 for about six months now and he has down nothing but talk smack about racing each other.

I almost had him talked into a Z06. But his damn flavor of the month talked him out of it.

I am picking up a hint of jealousy here from your family... its hard for most people to own a T/A or Camaro because they are willing to substitute convenience and 4 doors for Looks and Power!! They are simply jealous that you are going to have the cooler more sporty car!!

I happen to know Firebirdjones (Larry) personally. Well, we've met a few times since he moved to Az. We're both in the local F-body club. He can attest to the fact that I need nought for the hair on my head. The ball cap is merely to keep the sun out of my eyes.

Except for the 4 years I spent in the Army I've had long hair all my life. I let it grow to it's present length (to my waist - that's as far as it'll grow) back in the 80's. It went well with the "Hair Band" I was playing in.

    Too old? No way!

I bought my first TA almost 4 years ago, when I was 46. I took it by my brother's place to show him. He's a (retired, 69 Camaro) streetracing gearhead from the old days, and 3 years older than me. After he turned 3 shades of green with envy, his wife had to go inside to get a mop and bucket to mop up where he was drooling all over the driveway. My mom thinks it's the Bee's Knees, and my sister enjoys her neighbors ogling her driveway whenever I visit her in the TA. My wife can't get enough of riding with me.

I've always had a V-8 around to drive, from my 72 Cutlass I got when I was 17 (which, by the way, is in the garage beside the TA), to my built 76 Chevy truck (what a beast!), plus a few others in between.

Too old? I just don't see it. Every time I start the TA I get that gut feeling. And no, it's not the Geritol acting up. I say enjoy the crap out of it while you can.
